Handling the PR and Socials for Greater Manchester Walking Festival 2019
Working on events is at the heart of the business, so when the team behind the Greater Manchester Walking Festival 2019 came knocking, we said yes.
The month-long event which takes place each year in May across Greater Manchester was a joy to work on. We handled all the publicity, social media and created written and video cases stories, working alongside the talented communications team over at GM Moving.
The ethos of the event is to get the good people of Greater Manchester out the door and walking more in their local neighbourhood to reconnect with the delights on their doorstep, make new friends, while also improving their physical and mental health.
We worked on the campaign with our mates over at Sunny Thinking who were behind the branding, marketing and website for the 2019 Festival. Our work focused on media relations across the 10 metropolitan boroughs which include: Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Trafford, Wigan and the cities of Salford and Manchester. Highlights from the coverage we secured were stories in regional newspapers including the Manchester Evening News and Tameside Reporter; interviews and features on BBC Radio Manchester, All FM and Hits Radio and That's Manchester TV.
We created and managed the content for the social media platforms: Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Figures from the campaign on socials included an impressive 29k with the Facebook Ads campaign and 285,000 impressions on Twitter during the four-month push.
