Scribble writes children's book 'Dinki Duck Causes Mischief' to raise funds for charity
Who they are: Scribble teamed up with Manchester marketing agency Sunny Thinking to produce a children’s book for the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT). The story, ’Dinki Duck causes Mischief’, was used as a fundraiser to help the charity reach its target of one million pounds a year, so it can continue providing holidays and activities for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from all over the North West. The charity needs to reach out to businesses, funders and private donors to meet the hefty costs of keeping the Farm going.
What we did: For Scribble this was a dream project work on. As a writer and the mother of two small children it made me jump out of bed. The story is designed to make children giggle at the character’s cheeky antics and also help them familiarise themselves with the farm and all the different animals that live there. It was written with the Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 children in mind and can easily be integrated into the curriculum through literacy and art.
The book offers another platform for us to help raise the much-needed funds to enable us to continue the vital work we do. We’re also really excited about introducing the children to Dinki Duck. Every child that comes to stay at the farm will be given a copy of the book. Along with their very own cuddly Dinki Duck to take home.Helen Crowther, press officer CAFT
