Blogging at the Children's Media Conference 2016
This year's Children's Media Conference (CMC) kicked off on Tuesday in Sheffield and Scribble was invited over as a guest blogger. The event which is the UK's premier meeting place for the children's content industries, is now in its 12th year.
CMC is headed up by the very wonderful Kathy Loizou, who was one of the co-founder of the Sheffield Doc/Fest. The event brings over 500 delegates to Sheffield to discuss, debate and share ideas about creativity, best practice and research from the world of kids content.
The 2016 event began with an Opening Keynote from writer and poet Lemn Sissay MBE. Topics on the conference agenda include the effects of Brexit on the kids’ industry UK, the increased rise of the SVODs and how to create games and content that children actually want to interact with, among many other issues. There was also a Creative Keynote from illustrator, author and political cartoonist, Chris Riddell.
